Ralph Dudley  Draper
Ralph Dudley Draper, formerly of Martinsville, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the VA Care Center in Salem, VA. He was born in Martinsville to the late Wertie Horton and Myrtle Wells Draper.

He was a longtime member of Wesley Memorial UMC, a life member of Patrick Henry Lodge #82- Knights of Pythias, former president of Hines Memorial Pythian Home Board of Directors for 14 years, and a former member of the P.S. Ford Lake Pythian Lake Board of Directors. He had worked for the City of Martinsville Sheriffs Department for 15 years. He was a WWII Army veteran having served in the South Pacific on Iwo Jima where he advanced to E-5 and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Army Occupation Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie F. Draper of the home and many special friends and neighbors across the United States.

His graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery with military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 4 until 6 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn.
