Virginia Griffin "Ginny"  Smith
Virginia Griffin "Ginny" Smith, age 82, formerly of Martinsville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2016 at her home in Patrick Springs. She was born in April 3, 1934 in Henry County to the late John W. Griffin and Revonia Bush Griffin Lawrence. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband of 62 years Maurice S. "Chick" Smith in 2015, two sons, Rodney D. Smith, and James A. Smith, one daughter, Virginia L. Smith, two brothers, James S. Griffin and John W. Griffin and two sisters, Nellie Griffin and Luray Hancock.

She was a member of One Accord Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Maurice S. "Buster" Smith, Jr. of Collinsville, Jeffrey L. Smith of Martinsville, and Thomas C. "Tommy" Smith, Sr. of Penhook, two daughters, Sandra "Sandy" Smith of Patrick Springs and Angela "Angie" (Phillip) Woods of Martinsville, one brother, George Griffin of Ridgeway, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and three great, great, grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held at One Accord Baptist Church on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Phillip Woods officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at One Accord Baptist Church.
