Ezra Hairston  Barnes Jr.
Ezra Hairston Barnes, Jr. age 71 of Martinsville passed away on October 2, 2017 at his residence. He was born on May 6, 1946 in Martinsville to the late Ezra H. Barnes, Sr. and Elsie Gilbert Barnes.

He had worked for American Furniture and Pannill Knitting until he became disabled. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict where he rose to the rank of SP4, and was awarded two Purple Hearts for wounds he received in combat, and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

He is survived by his sons, Marcus Barnes of Martinsville and Grayson (Tracy) Barnes of Collinsville, two brothers, Dennis Barnes of Hampton and Marvin Barnes of Ridgeway, two sisters, Carolyn Rakes of Ridgeway and Lucy Bagarilla of Jacksonville, NC, and three grandchildren, Skyler Blake, Kaden Gray and Trever Gage Barnes all of Collinsville.

His graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Roselawn Burial Park with military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry Co. Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn. Online condolences may be made at www.roselawnchapelfuneralhome.com.
