Obituary for John William Davis

John William  Davis
John William Davis, age 75, of Martinsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Ridgeway on May 24, 1942 to the late Sherman and Beulah Rea Davis. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and William Davis, a brother, Clyde Davis and a sister Sally Aliff.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a machinery operator before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a son, John Davis of Troutville, three daughters, Cynthia Dunford and Karen Brodie both of Martinsville and Melissa Lynch of Bassett, three sisters, Nancy Massey of Ridgeway, Patricia Crotts of Bassett, and Sharon Hundley of Florida, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The service for Mr. Davis will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn with Pastor Peyton Gilbert officiating the service. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum in Roselawn Burial Park with military honors presented by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The visitation for Mr. Davis was held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the chapel of Roselawn. Online condolences may be made at www.roselawnchapelfuneralhome.com.
